Day 01

Airport → Polonnaruwa

After arriving at the airport, begin your journey to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. En route, stop at Moragahakanda Dam Viewpoint and Giritale Lake to enjoy scenic countryside views. Visit the vast Parakrama Samudraya reservoir, an engineering marvel from Sri Lanka’s ancient kingdom. In the evening, unwind at your hotel surrounded by nature, reflecting on the peaceful beauty of the region. Overnight stay in Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa → Sigiriya

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Polonnaruwa, home to impressive ruins, royal palaces, and Buddha statues that reveal the island’s glorious past. Later, transfer to Sigiriya and climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress or Pidurangala Rock for panoramic views of the plains. Experience a traditional Sigiriya Village Safari to see local life up close. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya → Kandy

Start the day at Kandalama Lake, followed by a visit to the Golden Temple and Dambulla Cave Temple with its ancient murals and Buddha figures. Continue through Matale to visit an Ayurvedic spice garden and the Nalanda Gedige Temple, a rare blend of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. Kandy City Tour

Enjoy a full-day city tour of Kandy, beginning with a scenic viewpoint and the towering Bahirawakanda Buddha statue. Visit a local wood-carving center, the lush Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, and the Millennium Elephant Foundation. In the evening, explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most sacred shrines, before relaxing at your hotel. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

Depart Kandy for the misty highlands, stopping at the Mahaweli River viewpoint and a gem museum. Climb the Ambuluwawa Tower for sweeping mountain vistas, visit Ramboda Falls, and tour a tea museum and plantation to see how Ceylon tea is made. Nuwara Eliya → Ella

Later, take one of the world’s most scenic train rides from Nanu Oya to Demodara, passing through lush tea fields and mountain tunnels. Ella → Yala → Bentota

Explore Ella’s highlights — Ravana Falls, Little Adam’s Peak, and the iconic Nine Arches Bridge. Those seeking adventure can try the optional Flying Ravana zip line. Continue south to Yala National Park for a thrilling wildlife safari, where elephants, leopards, and colorful birds roam freely. Later, travel to Bentota for a relaxing evening by the ocean. Bentota → Airport

Spend your final morning at leisure on the beach. Depending on the season, enjoy optional whale watching, a Madu River boat safari, or water sports in Bentota. Visit a turtle hatchery to learn about local conservation efforts before your transfer to the airport. Conclude your Sri Lankan journey filled with nature, culture, and warm hospitality.
